Siege! I resigned my allegiance to the king & I didn't get the option to keep my fiefs (I guess you must rebel!). I prepare to attack a weakly held keep since my friends tell me they won't even think about supporting my claim to the throne while I haven't a single possession. I can't! I believe I need to be a mercenary of a kingdom at war with my target's owning kingdom before I have the choice to besiege a castle. Then I suppose I'm to request it for myself & rebel if not given it? I simply wanted to carve out a place for myself...is this the only way? 96Ninety-six 05:14, January 31, 2012 (UTC)

In Warband, to attack a castle/town while you're a free man you need a negative relation with the owning faction.
In my case I threatened some passing by peasants to get them to suspect me. Attacking a lord or caravan of that faction should also work.
You start your own kingdom by taking a town/castle like that. Note that you'll be at war with that faction. (I'm still trying to end that war... >.<)
Haven't tried the rebel approach.

The rebel option was a sucess for me, in mount blade fire and sword, i first got my nobles to join me, and now im the rebel king, if only polish, will stop attacking me, the rest back off, i have only 98 men, and a noble with 250 men, they dont stand a chance against my armies, ive actually forgot about the missions. If u try to rebel, sometimes it ends in tears, like the first time i did it, save it, before you do rebel, if rebel didn't work load the game back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikeymikeymikey (talkcontribs)
Yes, those are a few of the things I want to avoid. I saw nobles switching sides but I couldn't offer myself (just my king) until I resigned. And attacking their caravans....& starting a war... Is there a way to end it? The 'Pretenders to the Throne' all seem to have the ability to begin & end wars...why not me? Hmm...thanks for the information. On 'Impulse', todays daily deal is 'Fire and Sword'....hmmm... 96Ninety-six 03:16, February 1, 2012 (UTC)
